Lots of beauty brands boast “fresh” ingredients, but Tomorrows Leaf has literal farms that yield the ingredients that go into our products. For 17 years, we have been tirelessly and passionately working with farmers and their land around the globe in an effort to reduce our ecological footprint while supporting smaller-scale farming communities. Ultimately, we want our products to tell a story, an ethical one.
Sourced both locally and worldwide from an extensive network of Fair Trade growers and suppliers, there is particular emphasis on organic and ethically certified botanicals, some of which are also wild-harvested. Our partnerships undertake a commitment to purchase produce grown, within specified quality and quantity parameters. Some farmers are often constrained in what they can produce by limited marketing opportunities, which often makes diversification into new crops very difficult.
Contract farming allows access to a wide range of managerial, technical and extension services such as helping to grow food crops that otherwise may be unobtainable. We are proud to be a partner in protecting and promoting the agricultural industry and the quality of farm-grown premium products around the globe.

England’s only UNESCO natural World Heritage Site: the ancient hunting ground of the National Park of The New Forest, and birthplace of Tomorrow’s Leaf Organics, is an official designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The Dorset and East Devon Coast is rich in wildlife and displays a remarkable combination of internationally renowned geological features and is considered one of the most significant earth science sites in the World. It comprises a near-continuous sequence of Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous rock exposures that represents almost the entire Mesozoic Era, almost 190 million years of earth history.
Looking at these magnificent displays of natural beauty, it’s not hard to understand why Tomorrow’s Leaf are deeply proud of their birthplace and why their commitment is so strong in supporting the study of materials and processes that reconnects our thinking with the balancing powers of natural systems. This level of consciousness helps us improve our lives, wellness and health as well as strengthens our ability to protect nature around and within us.
Herefordshire and Staffordshire, Great Britain
A selection of organic herbs is grown on our two Britishsponsorship growing farms; both practice farming systems of the highest standards, where sustainability of wildlife and the wider environment is always paramount. The farms also manage orchards and meadows that have won prestigious environmental awards for creating a truly sustainable environment. In addition to recycling botanical waste as farm compost, these environments have prevented endangered butterflies and moths from becoming extinct species by sustaining the ecological balance of their local habitat.

Tomorrows Leaf organic cultivation began in 1994 in Indonesia. Farming is on high land at an altitude of 1000 m, where it is relatively cooler throughout the year. No agricultural chemical is used and every process from planting to processing is done by hand and with great care. We work with a sponsorship growing program that has two farmlands and factories; one in Surabaya in Eastern Java and one on Lombok Island. Having these facilities enables them to consistently provide Tomorrows Leaf with materials of the highest quality. We secure safety and quality of this product through quality control in Japan and in Indonesia.
Fairtrade is basically an alternative approach to conventional trade and is based on a partnership between producers and consumers. When farmers can sell on Fairtrade terms, it provides them with a better deal and improved terms of trade, which ultimately helps improve their lives and plan for their future. Fairtrade also rewards and encourages farming and production practices that are environmentally sustainable, meaning producers are also encouraged to strive toward organic certification.
Two-thirds of Fairtrade farmers live in Africa and the Middle East, and just under a quarter in Latin America and the Caribbean and the rest are in Asia and the Pacific. Together they produce everything from coffee, cocoa, bananas, honey and spices. What you may not know is that women make up nearly half of all Fairtrade hired labor and the areas of dried fruit, fruit juice, flowers and tea have the biggest female workforces. If we break those numbers down even further, the tea plantations and flower farms alone employ almost 90 percent of all female Fairtrade hired workers.
One particular story we always love sharing takes us to SouthEast Asia where women have come together to form the first all-female cooperative and say that being part of Fairtrade has literally changed their lives, and that of their families and has finally given them a voice. This is why we prefer supporting initiatives rather than buying land because it allows these farms to remain within the family for future generations providing a far better and far greater opportunity for women.
Fairtrade offers consumers a powerful way to reduce poverty through their every day shopping choices and addresses the imbalance of power in trading relationships, unstable markets and the potential of injustices that occur through conventional trade.
Safe Ingredient Principles
Tomorrow’s Leaf is a brand to trust, our principles don’t allow us to simply talk a good game. Our standards are based on principles that require the maximum amount of organic ingredients, minimum synthetic ingredients, minimum processing of ingredients and clear labeling so that the consumer can make an informed choice about the product [s] they are purchasing. These standards also contain criteria that means ingredients must be assessed to not be harmful to human health and their manufacture and use must cause minimum environmental impact.
Prohibited processes include:
- genetic modification
- ionising radiation
- solvent extraction except with water, ethanol, glycerine, CO2
- animal testing
Individual ingredients vary in their ability to penetrate the skin, some are absorbed in tiny amounts whilst others have the ability to reach blood vessels below the skin and be transported around the body. While one product may contain very small amounts of some of these ingredients, it is the cumulative effect of applying various products regularly that causes concern.
The following principles reflect our underlying philosophy and set out the ideal we strive for.

- to provide a fair and adequate quality of life, work satisfaction and working environment
- to develop ecologically responsible production, processing and distribution chains, emphasizing local systems

Our drive for quality doesn’t just stop at our front door, ingredients and finished products are always guaranteed to be devoid of any toxins that are harmful to human health and the environment and are always researched and developed according to these various standards;
UK Soil Association Organic Standards, USDA Organic, French Ecocert Organic Organization, EU COSMOS, Fairtrade, Leaping Bunny, British Association of Cold Pressed Oil Producers (BACPOP), Kosher standard with the London Beth Din and ISO 9001:2000 ISO 22716 (GMP), The Royal Horticultural Society, Society of Cosmetic Scientists and The Institute For Functional Medicine and are always EU Regulation 1223/2009 (Cosmetics Regulation) Compliant.
